Dr. Alkek has been in private practice in Dallas since 1971. He was the first dermatologist in the metroplex to specialize in cosmetic dermatology and surgery. Dr. Alkek has advanced training in cosmetic surgery and helps train residents and fellows at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas, where he is a clinical professor.
Dr. Alkek is frequently quoted in magazines (see In The Media tab),
and repeatedly appears on television and radio programs. He has published numerous articles,
contributed to a textbook, and gives many lectures on all aspects of cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Alkek
currently serves on the editorial board of Vitality magazine.
